At the end of last year I became a member of The Rotary Club of Scarborough
(www.rotary7070.org/scarborough). Each week we get together and have lunch, listen to guest speakers and help out our (scarborough) community as well too on a global level ie: Rotary is committed to ending Polio worldwide.
Since joining, All Canadian Self Storage and I have been able to do our part by donating funds so that Sports Equipment could get out to the Aboriginals in Northern Ontario and sponsering a student to participate in Camp Enterprise, a camp started over 35 years ago. (For more details visit: www.campenterprise.ca). Also All Canadian Self Storage will be a proud sponser of the Scarborough Ribfest in August – one of the best and biggest in the GTA.Today I helped out with donating and bringing food and supplies to the St. Boniface Food Bank in Scarborough. They help and service over 100 families in the Markham and Kingston Road area; The Food Bank is in high demand from needy families in this local community and there are times when the shelves are nearly bare. Luckily with the generous support of the Rotary Club we were able to bring two car loads of supplies as well as cash donations so the Church could buy more vouchers and much needed items to help the community.
If you would like to donate to the St. Boniface Food Bank they are located at: 21 Markanna Drive Toronto, ON
(416) 261-9092
or you can drop off any donations to All Canadian Self Storage at 135 Beechgrove Drive, Scarborough, Ont. and we will be happy to deliver them to the food bank. Should you have any questions please feel free to call me personally at 416-208-0188.

All Canadian Self Storage is proud and honoured to be participating in the National Wall of Rememberance Project.
The National Wall of Remembrance will be located at the Military Communications and Electronics Museum on the grounds of Canadian Forces Base Kingston .
This will create a single place of remembrance for all our fallen heroes – a place that families, friends and the general public can visit and remember. It will incorporate the names of the Canadian fallen in all conflicts of record. Althought most or dead are buried abroad, this project will bring our boys and girls home.
For more information, please visit the official website at www.worassociation.ca
All Canadian Self Storage would like to extend an invitation to you and your family.
On Saturday July 9 we will be hosting a charity BBQ to help raise funds for Camp Bucko. Camp Bucko provides an opportunity for children recovering from burn injuries to meet other children to share similar feelings and experiences in a camp environment.
The BBQ will take place between the hours of 10am and 3pm at our Scarborough facility located at 135 Beechgrove Drive, Scarborough Ontario.
The BBQ is free to all attendees. There will be raffles and games for the kids. We are also providing the opportunity for local vendors to share in the experience. Vendor spaces are limited and are only $20 for the day. The $20 will go directly to Camp Bucko as a donation. All the money raised will go to help support Camp Bucko.
We will also be having a great Sport’s Memorabilia Silent Auction at the BBQ with some wonderful autographed one of a kind items and a portion of everything sold will go directly to Camp Bucko.

There has never been a question about All Canadian Self Storage being the leader in the industry. We were the first to offer $25 storage units, air mile rewards cards and the 1st true drive thru indoor self storage facility in Canada (see: www.canada-storage.com – Toronto facility).
So it should come as no surprise that now All Canadian Self Storage is proud to announce a Self Storage container. This container was designed with the Unicell truck box manufacture in Toronto.
The container is constructed of a heavy duty molded fiber glass truck box design. All Canadian Self Storage and Unicell have worked together to produce the first product of this for the Canadian Market. Because of the fiberglass box design, the exterior is seamless which offers total water, weather protection. The floor is constructed of 3/4″ pressure treated exterior treated plywood. The framing and floor reinforcement materials are all galvanized steel. The door is a standard Self-Storage door with a baked enamel exterior finish with weather striping.
Structural floor design allows for forklift accessibility for easy placement on customer property site.

As we celebrate Remembrance Day I am once again reminded how proud I am to live in Canada and work for a company that truly honours our Canadian Armed Forces.
From the “Support our Troops” ribbon displayed on our website and business cards to the contributions made to the veterans through our participation with the Garrison Officers Ball and the Veterans Affairs Canada.
I think Heather Robertson said it best when she wrote in her book, The Art of Canada at War -
“We must remember. If we do not, the sacrifice of those one hundred thousand Canadian lives will be meaningless. They died for us, for their homes and families and friends, for a collection of traditions they cherished and a future they believed in; they died for Canada. The meaning of their sacrifice rests with our collective national consciousness; our future is their monument.”
Keep well; Stay safe
Owner Hal Spradling and General Manager Leslie Kellen shared the evening with friends , family and neighbourhood constituents for burgers, wine and beer in support of John Parker. BRANTFORD ONTARIO MAYOR MIKE HANCOCK SURPRISES ALL CANADIAN SELF STORAGE GENERAL MANGER BY PRESENTING HIM WITH A 25 YEAR SERVICE CERTIFICATE.
Brantford, Ontario – September 22nd 2010: Mayor Hancock visited All Canadian Self Storage on Dalkeith Drive to personally present Dan McGuin with a certificate that honoured his 25 years of service at the same storage location. Owners John Donald and Hal Spradling, along with fellow General Managers of All Canadian Self Storage locations, looked on a as surprised Dan McGuin received his tribute.
Dan started his career in storage in 1985 at the Dalkeith Drive location as an eager 25 year old Site Manager. Married with 2 sons, Dan’s commitment to his job and community took root where Dan has been actively involved in the Brantford community with charitable donations and support of local youth sports teams. Dan’s son, Matt, now follows in his father’s footsteps working alongside his father.
In an era when five years of service is a rarity, All Canadian Self Storage is delighted and proud of Dan’s dedication to company and community. To honour Dan and his 25 years of commitment to our company and the Brantford community, All Canadian Self Storage will be hosting a charity BBQ with all proceeds going to the Steadman Hospice.
